If your phone's battery is running low quickly, you've probably heard that you should shut down any background apps. Some assert that it preserves battery life, enhances performance, and saves data. Some disagree, claiming that background apps don't use up your phone's resources to the point where they affect how well it performs. Executives from Google's Android division and Apple are among these individuals.

But it's feasible that both positions could be accurate. Although they might not always use your phone's resources, background apps are automatically reloaded on Android and iPhone devices. Your phone is using its battery as well as its data. Even if background apps don't consume resources as quickly as screen brightness and cellular connection do, stopping them from refreshing will help you conserve battery life and data for when you actually need them.

Both Apple's Low Power Mode for iPhones and Android's Battery Saver block background apps from refreshing. The performance of the gadget and the rate at which the screen refreshes are among the settings they also suspend or change. While turning off background programmes will conserve your data and battery, these options have more severe side effects.
